I have no other life! Not true, I love woodturning and making things

Most memorable gymnastics moment?

As an 11 year old, watching Paul Luxon do Triple Somersaults on a 77A Trampoline Bed.
(77A Trampoline Bed would have produced about a ¼ of the amount of power than a current Trampoline)

Best Achievement within Gymnastics?

7 Times Kent Elite Men’s Trampoline Champion

I did once do two National Champs in the same year (different NGBs) and broke my nose at one playing on the tumble strip (just a strip of mats).  When I phoned my father, he told me my brother had topped me by dislocating his shoulder in a rugby match, so I went back and competed in the final with a bag of ice.

Probably getting the qualifications in the first place, as I was never a trampolinist and started as a volunteering mum.

My first memorable gymnastics moment was when I had been selected at 10 years old to attend a prestigious Olympic Reserve boarding school in Russia where I spent over 5 years of intensive gymnastics training and study.

Gaining the title of Master of Sport in International Performance Level in Artistic Gymnastics

Watching Bryony, Kat and Nathan the 2016 Rio Olympics with everyone at the club gathered around the computer screen.  What a sense of community!

Making the finals of the 17-21 Men’s Gold category at English Championships 2018.
Helping a performer become the 9-10 English Silver Winner at the English Championships 2018.
Coaching a gymnast towards selection for the 2022 World Age Group Competition.

Starting up Tumbling Squads at Jumpers and within two years, having gymnasts qualify to NDP Finals & Major Championships (English Championships).
Medalling at finals in Acrobatics Multiple times 4x Bronze (2x Mens Group, 2x Mixed Pair)
1x  Silver (Mixed Pair).

My best achievement was is setting up a university trampoline team and then winning team of the year, Captain of the year and athlete of the year!

Alex Clifford

What are your current qualifications?

When did you start coaching?

I started coaching voluntary when I was 14 (2006) then became a qualified coach when I 16 (2008).

What hobbies/other interests do you have?

Watching most sports, mainly football, American football, F1 and watch/play golf (not very well!!)

Most memorable gymnastics moment?

Being selected to be a Games Maker for the London 2012 Olympics setting up the Gymnastics & Trampoline equipment and be on the arena floor during competition.

Best Achievement within Gymnastics?

Representing Great Britain at World Gymnaestrada in Dornbirn, Austria 2007.
Making it to English Championships 2019 finishing 9th in my category.
Making it to League Finals 2018 and finishing 5th in League 2 Trampoline and 2nd in League 3 DMT.

Lauren Tucker

What are your current qualifications?

Level 1 Trampoline Coach

When did you start coaching?

I started coaching in 2013 as a part of my Duke of Edinburgh bronze award. I began helping with the Saturday morning tots group and from here I helped out ever since. I then progressed to coach more days of the week and help out in holidays with camp.

What hobbies/other interests do you have?

Although I love gymnastics, coaching and training but I also enjoy watching other sporting events. Whether this is watching the football at the pub, staying up for fight night or supporting local teams like the Invicta Dynamos or Gills. I also enjoy my studies towards my accountancy qualifications and playing board games.

Most memorable gymnastics moment?

My most memorable moment in gymnastics was when I learnt my first front somersault! After doing gymnastics and aerobics, trampolining was very fun and I enjoyed doing bigger skills. I still remember to this day when Sue and James taught me my first somersault.

Making NDP Finals 2016
Competing in the Olympic Velodrome.

Chloe Crocker

What are your current qualifications?

I am currently a Level 1 coach, and have now started working towards my Level 2. I am also a County Level Trampoline Judge and am working on getting my Club DMT Judge qualification.

When did you start coaching?

I started coaching when I was 13 when I did my proficiency course, coming in after school on most days as well as my own training days, so that’s 10 years now!

What hobbies/other interests do you have?

I’ve recently got in to crafts like sewing and knitting, and help out in my best friend’s mum’s haberdashery shop and have found that I’m actually quite good at making things! In contrast, I also like power-lifting and am looking at competing later this year.

Most memorable gymnastics moment?

My most memorable gymnastics moment has got to be either when Byony won the Silver in 2016 or just anything Simone Biles has done over the past 8 years, that woman is a power house!

Best Achievement within Gymnastics?

I’d have to say one of my best achievements has to be making English Finals in 2017, I’m also really proud of starting my own university club from scratch, where we won Team of the Year in our first proper year of competing in 2017! In my last year of uni, I was also lucky enough to win the Contribution to Sport award, something I’m super happy with!
